Quick-Step was first launched in 1990 by the Belgian laminate manufacturer, Unilin,and hassince revolutionized the flooring industry in many ways. As the first brand to ever be developed and marketed by its manufacturing company, they were also the first brand to offer a glue-free installation process. This integrated click-in installation system was unveiled in 1997 as the “Uniclic Installation System,” and changed the world of engineered flooring forever. In 2001, the Quick-Step became the first laminate plank to perfectly mimic both the texture and aesthetics of true solid timber; later on, it proceeded to become the first flooring brand to introduce beveled edges into laminate flooring. Most recently, however, the Uniclick system was further improved in 2009 with the introduction of the “Uniclic Multifit Installation System,” which further simplified installation by incorporating a “slide and click” feature to each board.
